Horror in Heavenly Host - John Chapter 1

"And it's said that Heavenly Host Elementary school still stands, to this day. Sucking in the lives of innocent
souls, hungry for it's next group of victims.." John finished off his horror tale, leaving Jade shaking where she
sat, Rose seemed bored though, and Dave's glasses didn't let him see if he'd affected the boy at all.  

"Oh come now, John. Do you honestly expect those childish stories to scare us..." Rose trailed off as she saw Jade.
"Okay...you may have managed to scare Ms. Harley, but I believe that's all the reaction you managed to pull." She
rolled her eyes and sighed softly. "And honestly, must you go about scarring her on her last day here? You know
she's moving tomorrow! So why make her last memories of this place be of her cousin scarring her?"  

John sighed slightly and rolled his eyes. "Okay, yeah, I get it, I'm a jackass. But, c'mon, Rose! It's just in good
fun! If you don't want to tell horror stories than what do you want to do?"

She seemed to think for a moment, before going into her backpack and pulling out a piece of paper, shaped like a
person. "I was planning on saving this for later, but now seems like the best time. This is a Sachico doll. A charm
of sorts that if done properly will cement our friendship forever. So no matter how far our Jade moves, she can
still be guaranteed that we're always going to be with her."  

John's eyes brightened with interest and he leaned forward, gazing at the little paper doll intently. "So...it's a
charm? But...what happens if we do it wro-"  

Rose interrupted him before he could finish. "Failure isn't an option, Johnathan. Now, are you going to participate
or not? I already spoke to Dave prior this encounter, and he's already agreed to the charm, and I'm sure that Jade
won't object. So, are you in as well? Or is it just going to be the three of us?"  

John grinned brightly and got to his feet. "Sure, I'll join in!"

Jade stood as well, grinning excitedly as her green eyes practically sparkled in the dying rays of the sun, it was
almost nine after all, and even in the middle of the summer, the sun wouldn't last much longer before nightfall.
"Yeah! This is going to be so awesome! This way, I can always keep a peace of you two near by! What do we have to
do?"  Rose stood and brushed her skirt off. "From what I found, we need to say the charm 'Sachico we beg of you'
five times. Once for everyone present, and then once more for Sachico. No more, and no less, does everyone
understand?" She looked around, and when no one objected, a soft smile graced her lips. "Alright, good. Now.
Everyone, take hold of the paper doll, hold onto it tightly."  When everyone had done as instructed, she waited a
moment, for everyone to have been able to say the charm enough times, counting over the five times herself. "Has
everyone finished the chant?"  Jade nodded. "Yeah, I'm ready!"  John grinned again, nodding as well and gripping
the doll more tightly. "Yeah, I'm ready too!"  When everyone had confirmed that the chant was complete, Rose took
a quick breath. "Alright, now. Hold on tightly, dig your fingernails into the doll if you have to. But don't let go
. We're going to pull until the doll rips into four parts, alright?" A nod from everyone. "Alright. On the count of
three, pull. One...two...three!"  Everyone yanked and the doll soon fell into four pieces, each of them getting the
ir own piece of it. "Now, make sure not to loose that doll piece. Alright?"  Everyone nodded and put the pieces
somewhere safe.

For John, that meant in his wallet, along side a picture of his dad.  

Jade's eyes teared up slightly. "Thanks guys, now I can always hold a piece of all of you with me...even if I am
moving to an island in the middle of nowhere."  John walked up and hugged her. "Hey, it's alright, Jade. We'll see
each other again, and we'll all hang out, okay?"  Jade nodded slightly and John went over to stand by Dave. "We
should probably all head home, wouldn't want our parents getting worried now would we--" The ground beneath their
feet started to shake.  

"F-fuck, an earthquake!? Now?? Of all times!?" He gripped onto Dave's arm, trying to stabilize himself as the
shaking grew worse.  

Suddenly the ground split open, moving out from underneath them, and the world went black.
